Priority Two News – Spring 2009

 100+ Attend January 2009 Alumni, Friends and Participants Dinner

Priority Two hosted one of the most successful Alumni Dinners in recent memory this past January 19^th at North Way Christian Community.  Over 90+ alumni, friends and current participants reunited and renewed past friendships, as well as made new ones.

The agenda for the evening was highlighted by two significant events.  Priority Two had the honor of bestowing a special award on Charlie Beck, past P2 Director.  Charlie was named as Director Emeritus accompanied by a beautiful plaque commemorating the occasion and with his wife Sharon by his side to enjoy the honor.

 Also highlighting the evening was an outstanding presentation by Lauren Lawley Head, Editor of the Pittsburgh Business Times.  Lauren accurately compared where Pittsburgh is positioned in the overall employment rankings of our area with the rest of the US, as well as which industry segments rose in the past year, and which did not.  Her statistics from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry were revealing and ignited quite a few questions and discussion from the audience.  Some of her slides may be seen on the P2 website at http://ptwo.org/docs/Slides.pdf.  For those currently in job search, Lauren highly recommended the local job site www.imaginemynewjob.com, as it has thousand of local jobs listed.

The evening was capped by some great door prize drawings donated by our P2 alumni, Ministry Partner and Corporate Sponsors, Fragasso Financial Advisors and Pittsburgh Business Times.
